NBA Summer League: Justin Dentmon impresses but Mavericks fall to Bobcats, 86-80

After opening NBA Summer League play with a victory over the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks fell to the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday night, 86-80.

Point guard Justin Dentmon led the Mavericks with 18 points while Jae Crowder and Josh Akognong chipped in with 16 points a piece.

But it wasn’t enough as the Mavericks failed to slow down Bobcats big man Cody Zeller, who was taken with the fourth pick overall in the NBA Draft. Zeller finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

The Mavericks (1-0) face NBA D-League Select Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. (CDT).
